Asleep in the Storm
Sailing alone into unknown seas,
Leaving behind a life of ease.
Never knowing what tomorrow will hold,
We fear a storm but we must be bold.
Jesus sleeps while the winds will rage
The worst of humanity takes the stage.
Howling gales excite our fear,
The way to go by no means clear.
God is silent, or so it seems,
Visions of terror fill our dreams.
But God can see our future good
Although His way is not understood.
We navigate through rocks and reefs,
Imprisoned in our wrong beliefs.
Until a light shines on the shore,
The Lord is with us evermore.
Our pilot through the darkest storm,
Our love is cold, His love is warm.
He wakes and bids the waves be still,
Our greatest need He will fulfil.
