God Sends His Light
In this dark world, God sends His light,
To put an end to mankind’s night.
He comes as man, born as a child,
In an obscure place out in the wild.
This treasure is born without a home,
Yet greater than the might of Rome.
Jesus is born to lowly folk,
Yet He is the Word that God has spoke.
God brings light and God brings grace,
Yet He enters in a lowly place.
A stable holds God’s plan for man,
A tremendous gulf His love will span.
No one can ever match God’s glory,
And Jesus now takes up the story.
His birth will lead to death’s defeat,
Where God and man truly meet.
