God is greater than we know
Than all those flimsy fragments show.
We see a speck, He sees the whole,
We play a very minor role.
Clouds and images block our way,
And empty words that people say.
So glorious that we quake with fear,
Till all our worries disappear .
Yet He knows our greatest need,
Growing fruit from one small seed.
His care and timing are unique,
Rewarding those who ask and seek.
He is that stranger at the door.
When we see less, He gives us more.
More than we can comprehend,
Holy, awesome, yet a friend.
He know those details that we hide,
The envy, malice, greed and pride.
He washes through, a mighty wave,
The worst of sinners He can save.
Far greater than we understand,
All life hangs on His command
