The Rock
Jesus is a sturdy rock,
His words they never fail.
A fortress that withstands the shock
Of every storm and gale.
So easy to build on sinking sand,
That vanishes with the tide.
There are simple words we can understand,
If Jesus is our guide.
The floods of falsehood do their worst,
They sweep away what's true.
But Jesus' words were there at first,
So ancient yet so new.
Wise men listen when Jesus speaks,
They treasure all He says.
It is God's glory that He seeks,
Not twisted human ways.
Jesus is the rock on which we build,
When confusion seems to reign.
His every promise is fulfilled,
He turns our loss to gain.
When the floods seem more than we can bear
And landmarks disappear.
God holds you gently in His care,
A rock to calm our fear.
