God’s Great Story
We cannot count the host of stars,
Our tiny grasp won’t stretch that far.
We cannot catch the mighty wind,
Or trace the workings of God’s mind.
We can only watch the birds and flowers,
And drift through sunshine and the showers.
We gaze in awe at God’s great works,
And avoid the swamps where evil lurks.
Wonder in a grain of sand,
More than we can understand.
God is so vast, we are so small,
But yet we hear His gentle call.
Where we are lost, He finds the way,
And the longest night turns into day.
Jesus loves the humblest folk,
With the words of wisdom that He spoke.
Follow me and seek my ways,
Sadness and grief give way to praise.
He loves the weakest of His flock,
And let’s them build on solid rock.
He brings light where all is dark,
Ignite a fire with a spark,
That blazes with a thrill of glory
Because His great wisdom writes the story.
