Broken Picture
The picture now is broken
By the stormy winds of time.
A glorious good creation,
Shattered by our crime.
Only God restores the pieces,
Healing every one,
Creates a holy temple,
The cornerstone His Son.
Each living stone He fashions
With costly grace and care.
Carving value out of rubble
For everyone to share.
God rebuilds His shattered image
From the ruins of our sin,
Salvaged treasure from the wreckage
He cleans us from within.
Washed free of guilty secrets
That are buried far away,
A debt so clearly cancelled
That no one can repay.
The Cross transformed that picture,
Disfigured by our fall,
God no longer is our enemy
But now our all in all.
